The Bicycle Ride of Life

The Bicycle Ride of Life

The journey of life could resemble a bicycle ride
A little shaky and very cautious at the start
Equipped with training wheels
The big adventure began in the backyard at mums

It wasn’t long before you
Were down the road in pursuit of fun
You could feel the excitement really climb; especially when
You faced a massive “intersection” for the very first time

Riding with friends and exploring new ground
Or just cruising around while enjoying
New experiences along the way
And sometimes just wanting to play

Being in charge and calling the shots
That magical feeling you never forgot
As we got older the focus of our ride
Changed like the incoming tide

The stakes are much higher and the pressure is on
Vocation, Fortune, and Fame
Study, sport, hormones, and relationships
Now it’s a very competitive and serious game

Status and labels are all the rage!
Yeah my old two wheeler has the nickname “Stone age”
Time to chase a deal on a flash set of wheels
Then I’ll be seen as trendy, slick and attract more chicks

Do you remember once when those rides were always fun?
Well now the pace is really on
That cruise up to the park for a lark
Has now become a hair-raising sprint down town after dark

I’ve now reached the ripe old age of
“Twenty one” and in that time
I’ve experienced, thrills, spills and lots of fun
But really the Tour of a Life Time has only just begun
